Hall of Honor
Wilson was the head athletic trainer for Sam Houston State from 1971 until his retirement in 1991. He played a big role in the transition of Bearkat athletics from an NAIA program to Division I. He helped open several new athletic facilities on campus including Johnson Coliseum and Bowers Stadium. In addition to serving the health needs of the Bearkat student athletes, Wilson was instrumental in training countless students who graduated and worked professionally in high school and college as athletic trainers.
