Prihoda made 63 career appearances, with three starts, while posting a 10-9 record with 22 saves, a 2.44 ERA and 117 strikeouts in 129.1 innings in his two-year career at Sam Houston.   

He was named the 2007 NCBWA Stopper of the Year as the top closer in the nation while posting a 7-3 record with 18 saves, 1.61 ERA, 65 strikeouts and a .207 opponent batting average in 35 appearances. He was a 2007 NCAA All-America, the Southland Conference Pitcher of the Year, All-Southland Conference First Team and named to the Southland Conference Tournament all-tournament team.  

He helped lead the Kats to the 2007 Southland Conference Tournament title, the first of three consecutive for SHSU, and a berth in the NCAA Oxford Regional before being selected in the 24th round of the 2007 MLB Draft by the Arizona Diamondbacks.
