CORPUS CHRISTI -- Anna Ferguson totaled 18 kills and added four blocks to lead Sam Houston State to a four-set Southland Conference volleyball victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Saturday afternoon.
The Bearkats bounced back after losing the first set to win 18-25 25-23 27-25 25-21 to end the weekend road trip to South Texas with a two-match sweep. Sam Houston also defeated Texas-San Antonio Thursday night.
Sam Houston State now stands 11-16 for the season and 6-5 in Southland Conference play. Texas A&M-Corpus Christi fell to 3-18 for the year and 1-10 in league action.
Haley Thomas also scored in double figures with 11 kills. The Bearkats totaled 48 kills as a team.
During the contest, there with 32 ties and 22 lead changes in the four sets. In the third set alone, the score was tied 16 times.
Sam Houston State will play the final five matches of the 2008 regular season at home in Johnson Coliseum beginning Friday with a 7 p.m. matchup with Texas-Arlington.
