
Two top high school seniors sign with Bearkats

Camille Alfaro, a 5-10 outside hitter from Marshall High School in San Antonio, and Michelle Miller, a 5-7 setter from Round Rock, have each signed a letter-of-intent to attend Sam Houston State University and play volleyball for SHSU head coach Brenda Gray.
Alfaro has been a three-year starter for head coach Jennifer Woods, helping lead the squad to the state playoffs in 2006 and 2007. She is a two-time first team All-District selection and was team “Most Valuable Player” as a senior. She played for Alamo Volleyball in club competition.
A three-time Academic All-District selection, she was a student class officer and Homecoming Queen. She lettered in basketball and softball.
Miller is a three-time All-District player for head coach Diane Watson on teams that have produced a 44-1 overall league record in that time span. She was named District “Outstanding Setter” in 2006 and led her squad to the Class 5A Region II championship match this fall at Sam Houston's Johnson Coliseum.
She played for Austin Junior volleyball club, helping led the squad to the 17 Open Division title in the 2008 USA Junior Olympics. She is a two-time team captain and has been an Academic All-District selection.
