Raquel Bueno named SLC Player of Week

Raquel Bueno, senior forward from Sao Paulo, Brazil, has been voted as Southland Conference women's soccer "Offensive Player of the Week" for the final weekend of the 2008 regular season.
Bueno scored two goals and assisted on another in Sam Houston's 3-0 upset of McNeese State that knocked the Cowgirls out of first place on Friday Oct. 31. Then she scored the only Bearkat goal in a 2-1 loss to Lamar in the final game of the 2008 season.
The three goals this past weekend upped Bueno's career goals to 27, the all-time record for Sam Houston State soccer.
Bueno scored 11 goals during the 2008 season, tying the season record originally set by Kim Brown.
Following completion of the season, Bueno was named to the All-Southland Conference squad for the third time in her four years as a Bearkat.
