The Sam Houston State women's tennis team closed out regular season action with a 5-1 dual match victory over Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Sunday afternoon at the McAdams Tennis Center.

Irina Sotnikova, Peta Taylor, and Patricia Manzur each won in straight sets at the number one, three, and five singles positions. Stasa Vujosevic split sets at number four, but won the 10-point tie breaker to take the match. Eleonora Kuruc lost in a tiebreaker  at number two.

TAMUCC defeated the number six singles due to an injury. Doubles was not played.

The victory ended the regular season for Sam Houston State with a 7-13 record. With their 6-5 Southland Conference dual match record, the Bearkats have earned a berth in the SLC post-season tournament to be played in Nacogdoches at the SFA Tennis Center beginning Friday, April 25.
