Sam Houston State men at Ty Terrell Relays

Beaumont ? John Thomas and Jay Newman won individual events to highlight action in the Ty Terrell Relays Thursday night at Lamar University.
Thomas won the 110 meter hurdles with a time of 14.55 seconds. Scottie Jones was the runner-up with a 14.83 clocking.
Newman won the 400 meters with a mark of 55.04.
The Sam Houston 4x440 relay of Lane Dennis, Darryl Hayes, Ganiyu Odunsi, and Jonathan was runner-up with a mark of 3:23.41.
Austin Matthews finished second in the pole vault, clearing 15' 1 inch.
Four Bearkats produced third place finishes including Julius Michael (1:59.45) in the 800 meters, Taylor Ray (4:07.27) in the 1500 meters, Chris Davis (20' 3”) in the long jump, and Chris Guillory (128' 8”) in the discus.
