
Bearkats close season at NCAA Championships

EUGENE, Ore. – Sam Houston's men's 4x100-meter relay team capped a historic season Wednesday evening at the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Hayward Field.
The quartet of Xzamion Parker, Javain Johnson, Omarion Ferguson and Tyriq Brunn placed 18th overall in the national semifinals, posting a time of 39.33 against the nation's top competition.
Sam Houston finished just 0.07 seconds behind Kentucky and ahead of both Harvard and Cal State Fullerton in the semifinal standings.
The NCAA Championships appearance marked the culmination of an outstanding season for the Bearkats, who advanced through the NCAA West First Round in Fayetteville, Arkansas, to earn a berth on collegiate track and field's biggest stage.
Sam Houston's national semifinal appearance capped a memorable outdoor campaign highlighted by a Conference USA championship in the 4x100-meter relay and a place among the nation's top relay teams.
