Kaylee Hawkins of Dickinson signs with Kats

Kaylee Hawkins, a 5-9 outside hitter from Dickinson High School, has signed a letter of intent to attend Sam Houston State University and play volleyball for Bearkat head coach Brenda Gray.
Hawkins was a four-time All-District and All-County selection for Coach Mitzi Matthews at Dickinson. She earned Academic All-State honors both as a junior and a senior and is a member of the National Honor Society.
"Kaylee is a gifted athlete with a tremendous leap and superior defensive skills," Gray said. "She will bolster our outside hitter position and will contribute to the team early on in her career."
Hawkins plays club volleyball for Absolute Volleyball Academy of Texas 18 Performance Team.
"Kaylee has been part of one of the top 10 club teams in Texas," Gray said. "She has been on our radar since last year. We pride ourselves in recruiting the best athletes and players across the state, and especially those close to home in the Houston area. Our team and program has definitely gotten better with the addition of Kaylee.”
