HUNSTVILLE ? The Sam Houston State women's basketball program added another post presence with the signing of Terrah Austin, head coach Brenda Nichols announced Tuesday.
“We are excited to add a player that has Terrah's athleticism to our program,” said Nichols. “She can finish, she can really run and jump, and is an outstanding rebounder, which is an area of need for us.”
Austin comes to Huntsville from Blinn College, where she played for two seasons under coach Jeff Jenkins. Austin averaged 7 points and 9 rebounds per game as a sophomore for the Lady Bucs. She also led the team in field goal percentage, shooting at a 47 percent clip from the field. Austin's 9 rebounds per game ranked 3rd in Region XIV.
Austin, a Corpus Christi native, starred at Flour Bluff High School where she earned first team All-District, District MVP, All-Metro, and All-Region honors. She also was a regional qualifier in the 100, 200, and 400 meter run and triple jump in track and field.
