Football 101: Chalk Talk for Women Thursday

State Farm Insurance presents the third annual Football 101: Chalk Talk for Women at Sam Houston State's Ron Randleman Strength and Fitness Center Thursday August 27 at 6 p.m.
Football 101: Chalk Talk for Women gives female football fans the opportunity to learn more about the sport with instruction not only from Bearkat head coach Todd Whitten and his staff but from members of the 2009 Sam Houston football team.
Doors open at 6 p.m. with dinner at 6:30 p.m. Following dinner, instruction topics will include the basics of football, offensive and defensive player positions, football tactics and special teams play. There also will be a question and answer session with Bearkat players.
Participants will be taken on a tour of the Bowers Stadium facility and given an equipment demonstration in the team locker room.
Football 101 will conclude with a "huddle up" and "run out" onto the field at Bowers Stadium.
Advance reservations are available by calling (936) 294-4205. Seat reservations are $20. A table of eight is $140. Walk-up registration on Thursday at the door is $25.
