Huntsville, Tex. - Tim Flanders carried 20 times for 141 yards and two touchdowns to become the first Sam Houston running back in school history to rush for more than 100 yards in five consecutive games as the Bearkats defeated Southeastern Louisiana 57-7 at Homecoming at Bowers Stadium.

Sam Houston (4-2, Southland 2-0) posted its fourth consecutive victory. Southeastern Louisiana (2-4, Southland 1-1) was led by wide receiver Simmie Yarborough who caught five passes for 130 yards including a 95-yard touchdown pass from Brian Young, the longest pass in Lion school history.

Sam Houston out-gained Southeastern Louisiana 397 yards total offense to 287.
