AAU All-America setter signs with volleyball

The setter inked a letter-of-intent with the Kats on the first day of the 2010 fall early signing period.
Jones is a first team All-District performer for coach Jason Landers at Bowie High School and was named as District 15-5A "Setter of the Year." As a junior in 2009 she was voted as her team "Most Valuable Player" and was named to two all-tournament squads.
She plays club volleyball for Austin Performance, leading her 17 Eclectic team to a third place finish at the AAU National Championships in Orlanda, Fla., in June where she earned AAU All-America honors.
"We're extremely excited to have Amy become our first signee of the year," SHSU head coach Brenda Gray said. "She is a tremendous athlete, a great leader, and brings energy to the floor for whomever she's playing with. We were able to see her play last year in the club season, and her all around game attracted us to her . She can pass, she can hit, she can play defense, but more importantly, she runs a great floor."
