Reserved all-tournament passes are available for $75 and may be purchased on line on gobearkats.com or at the Sam Houston athletic ticket office in the Ron Mafrige Field House at Bowers Stadium.
Other tournament packages available are a men's basketball all-session ticket for $50 or a women's basketball all-session ticket for $40. The Sam Houston ticket office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The ticket office telephone number is (936) 294-1729.
Buying State Farm Southland Conference Men's and Women's Basketball Tournament tickets at the Merrell Center from the Sam Houston ticket office is the best way to guarantee a seat in the Sam Houston section.
Last year, the Bearkats brought more fans to Katy than any of the other 11 teams in the league.
Sam Houston State won the 2010 Southland Conference men's basketball tournament with a record number of fans attending the event which returns to the Leonard E. Merrell Center in Katy for a fourth consecutive year.
The tournament gets underway Tuesday, March 8 with all four women's quarterfinal games followed by the four men's quarterfinal games on Wednesday, March 9. The women's semifinals will be contested the afternoon of Thursday, March 10 and the two men's semifinal games will be that same night. The championship game of the women's tournament will be played Friday, March 11, at 7 p.m., and the men's championship will be held Saturday, March 12, at 3 p.m.
The winners of the conference men's and women's tournament will earn the Southland Conference's automatic bid into the NCAA tournaments. The NCAA Men's Final Four will be held April 2-4 at Reliant Stadium in Houston, while the NCAA Women's Final Four will be held April 3-5 in Indianapolis.
