Football announces spring training schedule

Football spring training for the 2010 Bearkats will begin Monday March 29 and end with the annual Football Dinner and Auction and Orange-White Spring Game the weekend of April 23-24, head coach Willie Fritz has announced.
The Bearkats will work out Monday, Wednesday and Friday for three weeks starting in the last week of March and running through April 16. The final week of practice, the Kats will drill on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday with the spring game scheduled on Saturday April 24.
Sam Houston State looks to have approximately 70 players participating including 42 lettermen returning from the 2009 squad.
Also a highlight of spring work each year is the annual Football Dinner and Auction, an exciting fund-raiser for the Bearkat program and an opportunity for fans to bid on exciting auction items. The top item for up for bid annually is the opportunity to coach either the Orange or the White at the annual spring game.
