NATCHITOCHES, La - Freshman Nadia Dudyanskaya picked up Sam Houston State's only victory at No. 5 singles as Northwestern State defeated the Bearkats 6-1 in Southland Conference women's tennis dual match Sunday afternoon.
Dudyanskaya defeated Andrea Nedorostova 4-6 7-5 1-0 (12-10). The Bearkats now stand 3-1 in Southland Conference action and 5-5 for the year. Northwestern State is undefeated 5-0 in Southland action and stands 8-1 for the season.
The Demons swept doubles and won four singles in straight sets. Giorgia Pozzan split sets with Martina Ruhesova before losing 11-3 in a super tiebreaker for the third set.
Sam Houston's next home tennis match ins Saturday, March 20, when the Bearkats play host to Western Michigan in a non-conference match at the McAdams Tennis Center.
