Southeastern Louisiana visits Saturday

Coming into the weekend, the Bearkats own a 12-10 overall record and stand in third place in the Southland Conference West Division with a 6-3 league mark. Southeastern Louisiana is in sixth place in the East Division. The Lions are still looking for their first league victory with an 0-8 Southland record.
Sam Houston has been hard to beat on the Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum floor. The Bearkats stand 9-1 at home this season.
Sam Houston's senior outside hitter Carli Kolbe leads the Southland in total kills with 238 (an average of 3.71 per set). Other Bearkats who rank high among Southland Conference statistics leaders are setter Kym Loving who stands third in assists (837) and fifth in service aces (29) and middle blocker Kim Black who ranks second in the league in blocks with a total of 94.
Loving has climbed to fifth in all-time Sam Houston assists with a career total of 3,483. Black stands seventh in Bearkat all-time blocks with 326. Kolbe has moved into ninth place in SHSU career kills with 1,407.
Five other Sam Houston players are in triple digits in kills this year as Black sports 190 kills, Haley Neisler 150, Kendall Cleveland 126, Kelli Stewart 118 and Kaylee Hawkins 106.
Next week, the Bearkats travel to play at UT-Arlington on Thursday and Texas State on Saturday. Sam Houston returns home to Johnson Coliseum to face UTSA on Thursday Nov. 3 and A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday Nov. 5.
