"Pink Out" Saturday at Bowers

The contest will be the annual "Pink Out" day for Sam Houston State football.
SHSU faculty, staff, students and alumni, or members of their immediate families who are survivors of breast cancer and those currently battling the disease, will be recognized on the football field before the game begins.
The Kats For The Cause/Think Pink Week at Sam Houston State began in 2007 when several campus groups came together with the SHSU Department of Athletics to sponsor a "Pink Out" football game in October.
Five years later, Kats for the Cause has become a tradition at Sam Houston and still is providing opportunities for the community to learn about the prevention, detection and treatment options for breast cancer.
Kats For The Cause also plans additional activities throughout the year to educate the university and community about other types of cancer.
During the entire month of October "Pink Out" shirts have been on sale and will be available at the game on Saturday. The T-Shirts come in an assortment of designs for $10 each.
Tickets for the Sam Houston vs. Lamar "Pink Out" game are available now online at www.gobearkats.com/tickets or at the SHSU athletic ticket office located in the Ron Mafrige Field House at Bowers Stadium.
