Spring Success

The first weeked of April the Bearkats rolled up victories in three of four matches at the Islanders Spring Invitational at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi.
Sam Houston defeated the TAMU-CC Alumni 25-13, 25-11, Incarnate Word team 25-17, 23-25, 15-6 and Temple College 25-14, 25-21. The Kats' only loss was to A&M-Corpus Christi 25-16 27-25.
For the day, Carli Kolbe and Kaylee Hawkins led the Bearkats with 37 and 23 kills, respectively. Kolbe also added 19 digs with Hawkins and Jamie Haas chipping in 18 digs apiece.
Haley Neisler and Kim Black led the team in blocking. Neisler was credited with 15 blocks and Black added 11 blocks. Black was also strong from the service line with 5 aces.
Kym Loving and Courtney Laskowski split time at the setter.
Sam Houston will conclude their spring schedule when they take on great competition at a tournament hosted by Rice University on April 16th.
