
Alyssa Dooley named cross country MVP

The senior from Flower Mound was the top finisher for the Sam Houston women's cross country team at the 2010 Southland championships. Her best finish this fall was ninth at the Houston Baptist cross country meet. Last spring she also scored in the Southland outdoor meet in the 800 meters.
Dooley was one of 14 athletes recognized as "Most Valuable" for the 2010-11 at the banquet.
The Most Valuable awards for 2010-11 by sport were Jenny Pence (soccer), Alyssa Dooley (women's cross country), Patrick Krol (men's cross country), Kaylee Hawkins and Carli Kolbe (volleyball), Tim Flanders (football), Morgan Davis (women's indoor track and field), Matt Johnson (men's indoor track and field), Britni Martin and Sequeena Thomas (women's basketball), Gilberto Clavell (men's basketball), Dayna Galganski (bowling), Nadia Dubyanskaya (tennis) and Hailey Wiginton (softball).
