Special teams was a big part of the 2010 Battle of the Piney Woods. The Kats pulled a fake punt, recovered an onside kick, and Brandon Closner was big in the return game, including this 41-yard punt return.
Stephen F. Austin defeated Sam Houston State 31-28 last season before a crowd of 24,685 fans at Reliant Stadium. The crowd was the largest in the 85-year history of the rivalry and was the largest against a Football Championship Subdivision institution in both schools' histories.
