"These two matches will be good tests for the team as we get close to starting Southland Conference play," Sam Houston head coach Tom Brown said. "UTEP brings a very athletic team that will challenge us offensively. We put three good halves together last weekend and are looking forward to continue to improve our level of play."
Sam Houston opened its 2011 season with six of its first seven matches on the road. The Bearkats are 2-0 at Pritchett Field this year, opening the home schedule with a 2-1 win over Houston Baptist.
