Bearkat Send-Off Today at 4 p.m.

Huntsvillle City Councilman, James Fitch, has announced that the Bearkat "send off" will begin Wednesday as the team buses depart from Elliott T. Bowers Stadium.
There will be a procession beginning at Montgomery Rd., down Sam Houston Avenue to 11th Street and then on to Interstate 45.
"Everyone is being asked to line the streets holding banners and placards sending the Bearkats off to the National Championship Game on Saturday," Fitch said. "This is an exciting day for Sam Houston State University and Huntsville."
Once the Bearkats reach Frisco the excitement continues.
Sam Houston State will visit Pizza Hut Park for a team photo at 9:30 Thursday, then practice on one of the out-lying fields from 10 to 12 noon. Following the closed practice, the Bearkat players and coaches will meet with national and area media.
Thursday night both the Sam Houston and North Dakota State players and coaches will attend the "Great Texas BBQ Bowl" for fun and games at The Main Event in Frisco.
Friday at 12 noon both teams will be honored as a special National Championship Banquet at the Frisco Conference Center.
Sam Houston will have a short practice from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. at Pizza Hut Park and then go into team meetings to make final preparations for the game.
Two big events are scheduled for Bearkat fans who will be attending the NCAA Division I National Championship Game at Frisco, Texas, this weekend.
First, the Sam Houston State University Alumni Association will host an "All In" Orange Pep Rally Friday night at 7 p.m. at the NYLO Hotel located in Plano. The hotel is located at 8201 Preston Road where Preston and Headquarters Drive intersect.
The Sam Houston Cheerleaders and Marching Band will be featured at the "Pep Rally" and there also will be a D. J. All Bearkat fans are invited.
Saturday, the Bearkats' pregame tailgate will begin at 9 a.m. and run until kickoff at 12 noon at NCAA Tailgate Town next to Pizza Hut Park. There will be Bearkat fans "Pep Rally" from 10:15 to 10:35 a.m. featuring the Bearkat marching band, cheerleaders, Orange Pride team and Sammy Bearkat.
The Bearkat football team is scheduled to arrive and walk to the stadium at 9:30 a.m.
Tailgate Town is located at the corner of World Cup Way and the Gold and Platinum Parking Lots on the northwest corner of Pizza Hut Park.
All the fun and excitement finally climaxes with the 12:05 p.m. kickoff of the championship game between the Bearkats and the Bison. The game is sold out. ESPN2 will televise the event.
