Tuesday is "Dig Pink" night at Bernard G. Johnson Coliseum, a evening with the goal of raising awareness of breast cancer and benefiting cancer research.
Sam Houston State has won five matches in a row since falling in five sets at Stephen F. Austin two and a half weeks ago. The Bearkats have lost only one set in those five victories.
Deveney Wells-Gibson and Kendall Cleveland have been leading the charge for Sam Houston, averaging 3.69 and 3.02 kills, respectively.
Houston Baptist comes into the contest with a 12-9 season record. The Huskies have won four of their last five matches. Earlier in the year they defeated two Southland teams (Lamar and McNeese State) and went five sets before falling to Texas Tech.
Heather Leaverton is HBU's top scoring threat, averaging 3.30 kills per contest.
