Morghen Day Signs With Bearkats

Morghen Day, a point guard from Rockwall High School, has signed a letter-of-intent to attend Sam Houston State and play women's basketball for head coach Brenda Nichols in 2013-14.
Day signed during the November early signing period.
As a junior in 2011-12, Day was a first team All-District selection and team captain for Rockwall's squad that reached the state championship game. She was one of the leaders in her area in assists. She was named district "defensive player-of-the-year as a sophomore in 2010-11.
"Morghen is a skilled point guard with a great basketball IQ," Nichols said. "She has exceptional court vision, can create off the dribble, and has a great shot. She will be a great asset to our team next season."
Both her freshman and sophomore years, she earned second team All-District honors and helped lead Rockwall to district titles and the regional quarterfinals.
