
Three Named Academic All-Southland

Gray holds an overall grade point average of 3.80 as a health/nursing major and psychology minor at Sam Houston State. The setter for the Bearkats' Southland Conference regular season championship team, Gray started all 32 matches this fall as the Kats rolled to a 21-11 overall record.
The junior from Huntsville assisted on 1,234 of the Bearkats' 1,492 kills during the season and led the team in digs with 400 for a 3.54 per set average. Gray is a Dean's List student, Who's Who honoree, Golden Key and a member of the Alpha Chi National and Tri-Beta Biological Honor Societies and the SHSU Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. She earned All-Southland honors and was a Southland "Defensive Player of the Week" during the 2012 regular season.
Wells-Gibson has produced a 3.61 overall grade point average in two years as a criminal justice major at Sam Houston State. The sophomore from San Antonio is a President's List and Dean's List student. She was named as Southland Conference "Player of the Year" after totaling 486 kills (4.12 per set) and 53 blocks during the 2012 season. Wells-Gibson had a hand in 532 points for the Kats.
Cleveland owns a 3.24 overall grade point average as a kinesiology major. She is a Dean's List student. An All-Southland selection, Cleveland was the second-leading scorer for the 2012 Bearkats with 401 points on 360 kills, eight aces and 59 blocks. She earned Southland Conference "Offensive Player of the Week" honors during the regular season.
Joining the three Bearkats on the Academic All-Southland squad were Alicia Dittrich and Jessica Hays from Central Arkansas; Keelie Arneson and Mackenzie Neely from Northwestern State, Sheina Fernandez and Bruna Silva from Oral Roberts; Courney Donald and Megan McMillin of Southeastern Louisiana; Sabrina Burns, Madison Hanlan and Jill Ivey from SFA; Shannon Hullum and Logen Bourque from A&M-Corpus Christi; Megan Schwartz of Lamar and Kathryn Stock from Nicholls.
