More Honors for Taylor & Flanders

Safety Darnell Taylor and running back Timothy Flanders from Sam Houston State both are members of the 2012 BSN College.net All-America squad announced this week.
This marks the third All-America selection for Taylor, a senior from Mesquite, and the second for Flanders, a junior from Midwest City, Oklahoma.
The Bearkat duo paired to help lead Sam Houston to a second consecutive Southland Conference football championship and back-to-back NCAA Division I Football Championship playoff appearances this fall - a university first.
Flanders earned Southland Conference "Player of the Year" and Taylor league honors as "Defensive Player of the Year" for a second consecutive season as well.
Flanders leads the Southland in rushing with 1,252 yards on 204 carries and 17 touchdowns. Taylor leads the Kats' nationally-ranked defense with 91 tackles including 63solo stops.
Taylor is a first team selection on the BSN College All-America squad while Flanders was named to the second team.
Sam Houston State defeated Cal Poly 18-16 in the NCAA second round last Saturday and now travels to Bozeman, Montana, to face No. 3 seed Montana State in the Division I Football Championships quarterfinals.
The game will be televised on ESPN2. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Central time.
