
Baseball cracks Collegiate Baseball rankings

The Bearkats swept No. 23 Texas State in a Southland Conference series at Don Sanders Stadium in Huntsville this weekend, knocking the Bobcats out of the poll.
Texas State came into the series with a 14-6 record and a pitching staff that sported a 2.17 earned run average. The Bearkats outscored the Bobcats 19-7 in the three games, hitting .330 while the Texas State pitching staff posted a 6.00 series ERA.
Sam Houston now stands 14-9 and is tied for leadership of the Southland Conference with a 7-2 league mark.
Other new teams in the top 30 are Auburn (15-9), Saint Louis (19-5), Coastal Carolina (19-6) and Missouri State.
Sam Houston returns to action with back-to-back midweek games Tuesday and Wednesday against Dallas Baptist and Texas Southern, respectively.
