Texas sweeps series

No. 6 ranked Texas held Sam Houston to one hit as the Longhorns run-ruled the Bearkats 14-0 to complete a non-conference softball series sweep Sunday.

First baseman Kim Damian picked up the only hit for Sam Houston.

The Longhorns totaled 17 hits. Cecilia Castillo took the loss for the Kats. Haley Boros, Courtney Schoenemann and Meme Quinn also were in the circle for the Bearkats.

Sam Houston heads to Houston Baptist for a doubleheader Wednesday before opening Southland Conference action Friday at 6 p.m.  with Northwestern State.
