Sam Houston's nationally-ranked baseball team will be seeking revenge for a 12-2 loss to the Cougars in Houston March 13. The 10-run loss is the Bearkats' worst this year.
Since that meeting with UH, however, Sam Houston has won 16 of their last 19 games and cracked the top 25 nationally in two polls.
The Bearkats lead the Southland Conference with a 15-3 league mark that includes six series victories and three series sweeps.
Houston brings a 12-21-1 record into Tuesday's action. The Cougars stand 1-7-1 in Conference USA play.
Second baseman Chase Jensen was the Bearkats' nemesis in the first game with UH. Jensen, who brings a .302 season average with five doubles, two triples and a home run to Huntsville, went 4-for-5 at the plate in the victory over Sam Houston.
The Bearkats have five starters hitting above .500 when Anthony Azar leading the way with a .417 hitting mean.
Other top hitters for the Kats are Jake Arrington (.355), Colt Atwood (.341), Kevin Miller (.333) and Luke Plucheck (.322).
