Kats perform in first cross country meet

Relay duos from Sam Houston State placed third, fourth and sixth in the Bearkat men's cross country team's first action of the 2012 season at the Lamar Cardinal Relays in Vidor
The men's race featured a 12-mile course with teams of two student-athletes each running three two-mile legs.
Patrick Krol and Juan Ponce were the top finishers for the Kats, placing third with a mark of 65:00.0.
Karl Schreiber and Ryan Saam placed fourth with a time of 65:07.9.Clint Anders and Patrick Pitts were sixth with a mark of 66:55.9.
Next action for the Bearkat cross country team following Friday's meet will be the Rice Invitational Friday Sept. 14 in Houston.
