COLLEGE STATION — The Sam Houston cross country teams competed at the South Central Regional of the NCAA Championships at the Dale Watts Course on Friday.

The Bearkat men placed eighth as a team out of 32 schools participating. Gudisa Adnow led the way by placing 20th with a time of 30:02.7, and Christian Rivera was not far off the pace in 29th with a time of 30:27.3.

Mario Ruiz finished 35th with a time of 30:49.3, and Edwin Rivera was 80th with a time of 31:51.4. Ellie Galan was the top finisher for the Bearkat women, placing 60th with a time of 21:07.0
