COLLEGE STATION — The Sam Houston men's and women's cross country teams take their marks at the Texas A&M Invitational on Saturday for the second meet of the season.

The women's 5,000-meter race will begin at 8:35 a.m. The men will take to the 8,000-meter course at 8:00 a.m.

The Bearkats will be competing against Blinn College, Dallas Baptist, Houston, North Texas, Quachita Baptist, Our Lady of the Lake, Prairie View, SMU, St. Edward's, TCU, UC San Diego, UT-Arlington, UT-Tyler, and the host Texas A&M.

Last season, the men's team finished 6th with an average time of 24:41 just behind Tulane. Mario Ruiz led the team placing 21st with a time of 24:08. The women's team placed 12th with an average time of 19:13. Zerah Martinez led the team finishing 59th with a time of 18:50.
