Sam Houston State's women's soccer match with UTSA has been canceled due to a flooded field after two days of severe weather in Huntsville.
The contest will not be rescheduled. The Bearkats is scheduled to play host to Rice University Sunday at Intramural Field Number 2 at 1 p.m.
Sam Houston stands 3-5 record this year after splitting on a road trip last week which saw the Bearkats defeat New Mexico State 1-0 in overtime then fall to UTEP 1-0.
The Kats' defense has given up only six goals in eight matches. Freshman goalkeeper Kylie Hambleton has been credited with 29 saves while senior Michele McCullough has saved 22 shots.
Tricia Mallory, who now ranks second in Sam Houston career scoring with 21 goals in her three years as a Bearkat, has scored two of the team's three goals this year. Both goals were match-winners in overtime.
