Soccer Team Adds Two Transfers

Both are enrolled at Sam Houston State now and will practice with the soccer team this spring.
Marshall, a forward, is a Kingwood High School product who played for two regional finalist and three district championship squads. Kingwood's all-time leading scorer, she was a three-time All-District selection, district MVP in 2001 and twice All-Region. She also earned All-Greater Houston honors as a senior.
Marshall is an NSCAA All-Region scholar-athlete. A member of Dynamo 11, she was ESPN Rise National Player of the Week in 2011. She was a member of the 2009 state championship Eclipse 93 Black for coach Mac McCallum and was a South Texas ODP State Team and Region 3 pool player.
"We're very happy to add Kaisa to our team," Sam Houston head coach Tom Brown said. "She has scored many goals in her career. We struggled this past year to score goals and it is my hope that she can help fulfill this need."
Ross, a goalkeeper, played for coach Jim Bragg at Northwest High School in Justin. She also was a member of Eclipse Soccer Club, playing on a State Cup finalist. She was a Region 3 Premier League participant.
"Magen gives us another experienced goalkeeper for next fall," Brown said. "She is quick and explosive and will help add to the success of our goalkeepers. Kaisa and Magen will bring immediate help to areas in our team that we feel needs strengthening. We are glad to have them with us this semester so they can get to know our players and style of play."
