White wins Bearkat intrasquad meet

Strong individual performances by Allyson Pettit, Kaylynne Wright, Ashley Jenkins and Jay Roberson powered the Bearkat white team to a victory over the orange in the inaugural Sam Houston track and field Orange vs White intrasquad competition last week.
The white team totaled 127 points to the Bearkat orange team's 124-points.
Top event specialists included:
Women's Combined Events Winner: Allyson Pettit (1st in Pentathlon)
Women's Jumping Events Winner: Kaylynne Wright (1st in Long Jump, 1st in Triple Jump)
Women's Throwing Events Winner: Ashley Jenkins (1st in Shot Put, 1st in Weight Throw)
Women's Sprint/Hurdle Events Winner: Lygia Foreman (1st in 150m, 2nd in 60m)
Men's Combined Events Winner: Oliver Dubiel (1st in Heptathlon)
Men's Jumping Events Winner: Charles White (1st in Long JUmp, 1st in Triple Jump)
Men's Throwing Events Winner: Kalvin Singletary (1st in Shot Put)
Men's Sprint/Hurdle Events Winner: Jarrick Wright (1st in 150m)
The first Indoor Track & Field meet will be the Houston Indoor Opener at the University of Houston on January 11th.
