Beadle & Johnson All-Tournament

Angela Beadle and Jasmine Johnson from the Sam Houston women's basketball team both were named to the all-tournament team at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Classic this weekend.
The two had standout performances in both Bearkat games as the SHSU women opened the tournament with a 78-76 win over host Missouri-Kansas City but fell on the second day to Alabama-Birmingham 70-59.
Beadle scored 15 points and pulled down nine boards on Friday and totaled 18 points and 10 rebounds in Saturday's contest. The junior post player has scored in double figures in each of Sam Houston's eight games this year and has had double-doubles with twin digit rebounds as well in four contests.
Johnson scored 11 points in the UMKC victory and added three assists. She had nine points in the loss to UAB.
Other members of the all-tournament squad were Karisma Chapman and Ashley Grimes from UAB, Eilise O'Connor and Kim Nezianya of UMKC and Sabina Oroszova of Eastern Illinois.
The Sam Houston women's basketball team owns a 5-3 record so far this season. The Bearkats return to action Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. against Wichita State.
