Timothy Flanders Sets Another Record

Running back Timothy Flanders produced his 30th 100-yard rushing performance as a Bearkat Saturday in Sam Houston's 51-20 victory over No. 22 Southern Utah.
The senior from Midwest City, Okla., carried 22 times for 176 yards and two scores. The 176 yards represent Flanders' fifth highest single game rushing total.
College Football Performance Awards recognized Flanders as one of five FCS Offensive Players of the Week Monday.
Flander's two touchdowns moved him into a tie for fourth place in the all-time FCS rushing touchdown standings. The senior has scored 65 rushing TDs for the Bearkats.
Adrian Peterson holds the all-time FCS record with 84 touchdowns for Georgia Southern from 1998 to 2001. Matt Cannon of Southern Utah (69 in 1997-2000) and Kevin Richardson of Appalachian State (66 in 2004-07) stand second and third.
Flanders now ranks No. 7 in FCS career rushing yards (5,582) and No. 8 in FCS scoring (414 points).
The senior running back notched another school record. His season rushing total for 2013 now stands at 1,348, the most ever by a Sam Houston senior running back. Flanders now owns 32 Bearkat school records and nine Southland Conference marks.
