
Three hires & one promotion announced

Hans C. Malebranche and Steven Reynolds have joined the department as staff assistant for corporate partnerships and assistant athletic trainer, respectively.
Kelsey Hite became Sam Houston's assistant strength and conditioning coach in September. Also in September J.R. Ohr was named assistant athletic director for development.
Malebranche previously served as Creative Services Coordinator for Global Events Partner in Hollywood, FL, and in corporate partnerships for the Miami Marlins baseball club. He also worked for two years in guest services and ticket operations for Sun Life Stadium in Miami, FL.
He has served as Marketing & Promotions intern with the Orange Bowl Committee, Assistant Director of Football Operations for the Bloomington Extreme (IFL) and the Director of Football Operations for the Peoria Pirates (AF2). He worked as Operations & Recruiting Assistant for the Northern Illinois University football program in 2008.
Malebranche received his Bachelor of Science in Recreation, Sport and Tourism Management from the University of Illinois in May 2008 and his Master of Business Administration in Sports Administration from St.Thomas University in Miami, FL, in December 2011.
Reynolds brings NFL experience to the Bearkat athletic training program, having served in 2011 and 2012 as a seasonal intern with the Jacksonville Jaguars and in 2008 and 2011 as an intern with the Kansas City Chiefs.
A graduate assistant at Texas Tech while earning his Masters of Science degree, he has served as an Outreach Athletic Trainer with Covenant Hospital. He was a student trainer at the University of Florida where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training in 2008. Reynolds served from 1998 to 2002 in the United States Army. He is a NATABOC certified athletic trainer and Texas licensed athletic trainer.
Hite comes to Sam Houston from Angelo State University in San Angelo. A graduate of Angelo State and former football player for the Rams, Hite served as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach from 2006 to 2008 and as head strength and conditioning coach from 2008 to September, 2012, when he joined the Sam Houston staff.
Ohr now works with the Bearkat Champions Fund and athletics functions throughout the year. Ohr joined the Sam Houston athletic administration staff in October 2010 as staff associate in corporate partnerships and development.
In 2009,he worked as a development intern for the Longhorn Foundation, the primary fundraising arm of the University of Texas at Austin's athletic department.
Ohr received his BA in Business Administration from Austin College in 2007, where he earned all-academic honors for the Kangaroos. In 2009, J.R. earned his Master's Degree in Education in sport management from the University of Texas at Austin.
