Sam Houston men won four events at the McNeese State Cowboy Intercollegiate track and field meet Saturday in Lake Charles, La.
Charles White (24' 0.25”) won the long jump. Brian Helaire (47.15) took first in the 400 meters. De'Quad Binder (1:52.47) took golf in the 800 meters. William Stark (54.07) won the 400 meter hurdles.
Trey Jones (47.26) and Rodney Jones (47.70)placed second and third in the 400 meters.
Karl Schreiber was the runner-up in the 3000 meter steeplechase (9:51.57) and Clint Anders finished second in the mile run (4:19.70).
Bearkat third place finishers included Trevor Sealy (195' 1”) in the hammer, Freddy Arellano (1:54.17) in the 800 meters and Cutter Bernhard (16' 0.75”) in the pole vault.
Brek Christensen placed third in two events with a 194' 9” mark in the hammer and a discus throw of 163' 8”.
Ruth Amaku had the top performance for the Bearkat women with a runner-up finish in the 400 meter hurdles with her time of 1:01.13.
Winnie Ileso (14.14) and Tershauna Broadnax (14.20)placed third and fourth in the 100 meter hurdles.
Adrienne Quillin (165' 10”) and Ashley Jenkins (161' 3”) were third and fourth in the hammer. Jordan Grady ran a 56.17 to finish fourth in the 400 meters.
