Sam Houston's football rematch with Cotton Bowl champion Texas A&M on Saturday, Sept. 7 at Kyle Field will kickoff at 6 p.m.
Tickets are on sale to the general public beginning today, July 23. For more information, contact the SHSU athletic ticket office located in the Ron Mafrige Field House at Bowers Stadium. The ticket office is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The ticket office telephone number is (936) 294-1729.
The Southeastern Conference announced its early-season football television schedule Tuesday with the A&M-Sam Houston tilt as a feature contest on Pay-Per-View.
The Aggies and the Bearkats met in both team's final regular season contest of the 2012 season with Texas A&M winning 47-28 before 87,101 fans in College Station. The crowd marked the second largest audience ever for a Sam Houston football game.
Heisman Trophy winner Johnny Manziel rushed for 100 yards and passed for 267 in the contest. The Bearkat offense rolled up 382 total yards, scoring 28 points in the second half and totaling 41 minutes of possession time.
Both teams went on to successful post-season performances.
Sam Houston defeated all three Big Sky Conference tri-champions with NCAA playoff wins over Cal Poly, Montana State and Eastern Washington to reach the NCAA Division I National Championship finals in Frisco.
Texas A&M defeated Oklahoma 41-13 in the Cotton Bowl in Arlington the night before the Bearkats' appearance in the national title game.
