Yedidiah Louis added to Jerry Rice list

Yedidiah Louis of Sam Houston State is one of three names that have been added to the Jerry Rice Award Watch List on Tuesday.
The Rice Award, now in its fourth season, honors the top first-year player on the FCS level of college football, whether a true freshman or a redshirt freshman.
Louis joins Western Carolina linebacker Daniel Riddle and Youngstown State quarterback Hunter Wells to bring the total names on the list to 24.
Bearkat defensive lineman P. J. Hall was a member of the original 21 player “watch list.”
Louis leads the Bearkats in receiving with 41 catches for 444 yards, an average of 10.8 yard per catch. The Seguin product stands as the only freshman ranked among the national top 50 in receptions per game.
Hall leads Sam Houston with 15 tackles for losses of 61 yards. The total includes six sacks. Hall is one of only two freshmen in the NCAA's top 52 players in tackles for losses. He is a two-time Southland “Defensive Player of the Week” winner.
The Rice Award, named for the legendary wide receiver who played in the FCS (then Division I-AA) at Mississippi Valley State, can undergo revision before the finalists are announced after the regular season. The winner will be announced at The Sports Network FCS Awards Presentation Dec. 15 in Philadelphia.
