Kats head to Beaumont Friday

The Bearkats will be looking to start another winning streak as they hit the road for four straight games, starting with Lamar this Friday at 6:30 p.m. Sam Houston is 3-2 in league play while the Cardinals are 2-2-1.
SHSU had won three straight games and outscored opponents 12-4 before being narrowly defeated by SFA, 2-1, on the road last weekend. Sophomore forward Allie Johnson has scored a goal in four consecutive games and leads the team with six this season.
Juniors Ashley Alonzo and Shelby McDaniel have each scored five goals while Mariah Titus leads the team with three assists.
Lamar has the reigning Southland offensive player of the week Kimmy Albeno, who scored both goals in her team's 2-0 victory over Southeastern Louisiana on Sunday. The senior has seven goals so far this season and has the school record with 32 career goals.
The Cardinals' other league win was over Northwestern State, 4-1. Lamar lost 2-1 in overtime to Stephen F. Austin, lost 2-0 to Nicholls and tied 1-1 with Houston Baptist.
Next Friday the Kats face the long trip to Conway, Ark to face Central Arkansas at 7 p.m. The following Friday SHSU will face A&M-Corpus Christi on the road before travelling to Southeastern Louisiana Sunday.
Sam Houston closes the regular season at home against Houston Baptist (Oct. 31) and Nicholls State (Nov. 2).
