
PJ Hall named National Freshman of the Week

Defensive end PJ Hall has been named the National Freshman of the Week by the Sports Network for the final week of the regular season.
The Jerry Rice Award finalist, which goes to the top freshman in the FCS, had another dominating performance in the regular-season finale against Central Arkansas.
Hall had two sacks, two tackles for loss, a forced fumble and a vital blocked field goal in the win over UCA. The freshman from Seguin, Texas (Seguin H.S.), had four total tackles in the contest.
This season he has 61 total tackles, 20 tackles for loss and eight sacks. Hall has forced three fumbles, intercepted a pass and broken up five passes. The do-it-all lineman has also blocked three kicks.
Sam Houston State will play host to Southeastern Louisiana Saturday at 1 p.m. at Elliott T. Bowers Stadium in Huntsville in an FCS playoff opening round game.
