Kats move to No. 19 in rankings

The Southland Co-Champions, Sam Houston State, moved up to No. 19 in both the Sports Network and FCS Coaches Top 25. The two polls are the final of the regular season, while both will release a final top 25 following the championship game in January.
The Bearkats moved from the 24th spot up to 19th in the media poll while SHSU was previously unranked in the coaches' poll.
Sam Houston claimed a share of a third Southland title in four seasons, with a 38-31 win over Central Arkansas Saturday.
The Kats will host the No. 9 Southeastern Louisiana Lions, who shared the Southland championship with SHSU, in the first round of the FCS Playoffs, Saturday, November 29 at 1 p.m.
The Kats are one of only three teams that have earned a berth in the FCS Playoffss each of the last four years. The other two programs are North Dakota State and New Hampshire.
