Two Kats Earn All-Southland Honors

Ana Moreno earned All-Southland Conference honors in women's cross country with her ninth place finish in the 2014 league championships Monday in Natchitoches, La.
Her Sam Houston teammate Olivia Olguin received honorable mention all-league honors with an 11th place individual finish as the pair led the Bearkats to third place as a team in the 6,000 meter race.
Moreno completed the course in 21:14 while Olguin finished 13 second back with a 21:27 clocking. The honor marks the second time Moreno has earned All-Southland honors in cross country. She finished eighth in the race in 2012.
During Sam Houston's 27 seasons of cross country competition in the Southland, 12 Bearkat women have earned all-league honors a total of 15 times.
