Texas Southern third baseman Anisha Richardson blasted a three-run homer in the bottom of the fifth inning to power the Tigers to a 6-4 non-conference softball victory over Sam Houston Wednesday evening in Houston.
The home run broke a 3-3 tie. The victory runs TSU's season mark to 24-16. Sam Houston stands 24-21.
Third baseman Hannah Marino led the Kats at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs. Marino and designated player Sarah Allison each hit home runs for Sam Houston. Dani Allen drove in SHSU's other run.
Texas Southern out-hit Sam Houston 6-4. The Bearkats committed three errors.
Amber Neal (0-1) was the losing pitcher for the Kats in relief of starter Meme Quinn.
