Seven Sam Houston State men's track & field athletes earned Southland Conference All-Conference honors, the league announced Thursday.
Three Bearkats were named first-team all-conference including De'Quad Binder (800-meter run), Andre Moseley (high jump) and Charles White (triple jump) after the trio earned gold in their respected events.
Earning second-team accolades included Rodney Jones (400-meter dash) and the men's 4x100-meter relay squad of Torrance Williams, Justin Jenkins, Jones and Jarrick Wright.
The honors follow a third place team finish including four top three performances at the Southland Conference Outdoor Championships from Conway, Ark. over the weekend.
In the 800 meters, Binder took home the top spot at 1:50.93 – his second fastest collegiate time – successfully defending his title from the indoor campaign in the process.
Moseley captured gold in the high jump competing in only his third collegiate meet. The sophomore's mark of 6 feet, 9 inches was his first top spot and a personal best.
White solidified his outstanding Sam Houston career with a triple jump of 51 feet, 7 ¾ in first place. The mark was the senior's longest jump since the 2013 indoor campaign and was the fifth straight conference meet that White has found the medal stand.
Jones secured dual all-conference accolades behind a 400 meters personal best of 46.31 and an appearance as the third leg of the 4x100 relay that ran 40.03. Along with teammates Williams, Jenkins and Wright, the quartet took home the fastest time of the outdoor season.
