SHSU Volleyball announces 2014 schedule

A nonconference schedule that includes three road tournaments and the annual Sam Houston Invitational at Johnson Coliseum highlight the Bearkats' 2014 volleyball schedule.
Sam Houston State opens the season with the Sam Houston Invitational, August 29th and 30th, with games against Louisiana-Monroe, Mississippi State, Cal State-Bakersfield and Texas-Pan American.
The Bearkats then hit the road for most of September, starting with the Denver Invitational in Colorado. SHSU will play matches against Denver, Kansas and Bradley. The Kats will compete in the Houston Flo Hyman Collegiate Cup with Oral Roberts, Louisiana-Lafayette and Houston. SHSU finishes the pre Southland schedule at the TCU Molten Invitational with the host Horned Frogs, High Point and Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
The first three games of the Southland schedule will be played on the road with the Kats opening league play at Lamar September 27.
Sam Houston returns to Johnson Coliseum for three consecutive games October 9-14.
The longest home-stand of the season is five games spanning from October 30 to November 8. The Kats then close the season with road games at A&M-Corpus Christi and Houston Baptist.
This season's Southland Tournament will be hosted by Northwestern State in Natchitoches, La. from November 21-23.
