Cody Cipalla named as staff assistant

Cody Cipalla has joined head coach K. C. Keller's football staff at Sam Houston State as a staff assistant.
His duties include defensive quality control.
An all-state safety at Northwestern High School in Albion, Pa., played for Keeler at the University of Delaware in 2007. He later served as a student assistant coach.
Cipalla is a 2013 graduate of Delaware. Following graduation, we served as defensive coordinator for head coach Barry Zehinder at Christiana High School.
“Cody is an outstanding young man with a strong work ethic,” Keeler said. “He will be a great asset to our program and our staff.”
Sam Houston is in its first week of preseason football camp as the Bearkats prepare to begin the season with the FCS Kickoff game on ESPN Saturday August 23 at Eastern Washington.
The Kats open their 2014 home schedule Saturday August 30 by hosting Alabama State at Elliott T. Bowers Stadium.
